2024 National Day Parade Regimental Sergeant Major (NDP RSM)

The NDP RSM is chosen based on outstanding leadership, drill excellence, and service record, and the role is considered a high honour and recognition of an individual’s contribution to the Singapore Armed Forces.

Master Warrant Officer (MWO) Mohamed Ayub Bin Said Abdul Kader is the 2024 NDP RSM - a position that places him front and center as the face of this iconic national event. He plays a key ceremonial and leadership role, ensuring parade discipline, drill standards, and the coordination of marching contingents.

As the voice of the parade, MWO Mohamed Ayub exemplifies military precision and professionalism throughout rehearsals and the main event. He embodies the spirit, pride, and excellence of Singapore’s military tradition, inspiring countless others through his leadership and presence.

2024 Majlis Ugama Islam Singapura - Anugerah Jasa Bakti

The MUIS Jasa Bakti award recognizes individuals who have actively volunteered and made significant contributions to the Singapore Muslim community.

Haji Ahamed Sha Sayed Majunoon has demonstrated steadfast dedication to community service for over four decades, with impactful contributions in education, youth empowerment, and community development. He has played a key part in uplifting Singapore's Muslim community.

As Vice President of STMWS from 2020 to 2024, Haji Majunoon provided strong and visionary leadership, helping to expand outreach and deepen community engagement. His integrity, passion, and commitment to service continue to inspire those around him.

2022 STMWS Lifetime Achievement Award

STMWS Lifetime Achievement Award is presented to an individual in recognition of their long-standing service, unwavering dedication, and impactful contributions to STMWS.

Haji Kutus joined STMWS in its early years with the sincere intention of giving back to society. A committed and dedicated member, he was elected as Treasurer and faithfully held the position for over 40 years, being re-elected every two years in recognition of his integrity and resourcefulness. He also served as Vice-President and President during his long tenure.

Haji Kutus has played a key role in building strong ties with organisations such as Mendaki, MUIS, the Federation of Indian Muslims, and SINDA during the 1980s and 1990s. These collaborations enabled STMWS to reach out effectively to the less fortunate and other vulnerable groups in society. He is widely respected for his humility and character. He is also seen as a role model, mentor, and community leader.

STMWS is proud to confer him with the 2022 STMWS Lifetime Achievement Award – a truly deserving awardee.

2022 Majlis Ugama Islam Singapura - Anugerah Jasa Bakti

The MUIS Jasa Bakti award recognizes individuals who have actively volunteered and made significant contributions to the Singapore Muslim community.

Haji Mohamed Jaafar Bin Peer Mohamed joined the Tenkasi Muslim Welfare Society (STMWS) in 1989 and has served in important roles such as General Secretary, Vice President for more than 3 decades. A committed and dedicated member, he has played a key role in leading impactful initiatives that benefit the wider community.

STMWS runs part-time madrasah classes at two mosques, and as a certified Quranic teacher, Haji Jaafar teaches Quran to children and youths on weekends. His dedication to Islamic education has helped nurture the religious and moral development of many young individuals.

He has also been actively involved in social outreach programmes, including SINDA’s Festival Gift Pack Project, where he has helped distribute festive vouchers to low-income families since 2013. Over the years, Haji Jaafar’s consistent support and hands-on involvement in almost all STMWS programmes have made him a respected figure within the organisation.

As Head of Department for Student Management, Mdm Hajerah is known for her innovative teaching methods, compassionate leadership, and steadfast dedication to student development and well-being. Her tireless efforts in fostering a positive school culture and implementing effective student support systems have made a meaningful and lasting impact on both students and staff.

As Head of the English Language Department, Mdm Mehmutha Kutus has demonstrated outstanding leadership, unwavering commitment to educational excellence, and a profound passion for language learning. She brings the English language to life in her teaching, inspiring students through her dedication, creativity, and love of the language. These qualities also make her a standout nominee for the Inspiring English Teacher Award.

2019 U.S. Army Sergeants Major Academy (USASMA)
International Student Excellence Award

MWO Mohamed Ayub Bin Said Abdul Kader was based in El Paso , a city in Texas, United States in 2019 – 2020. He was selected by Singapore Armed Forces to attend U.S. Army Sergeant Major Course held from 8 August 2019 to 19 June 2020. It is a professional military education program designed to equip Master Sergeants and First Sergeants with the knowledge, skills, and competencies needed to serve as Sergeants Major at battalion level and higher.

Not only did MWO Mohamed Ayub successfully completed the U.S. Army Sergeant Major Course, but he also did our Singapore Army proud by achieving the International Student Excellence Award for the course. He excelled above all other international students from around the world in academic achievement, essay presentations, and field studies.

STMWS congratulates him on his exceptional performance and bringing pride to the Singapore Armed forces through his dedication, professionalism, and exemplary representation on the international stage.

2018 ASEAN SCHOOL GAMES – Singapore Schools Sports Team

The ASEAN School Games (ASG) is a multi-sport event for student athletes. It is organized by the ASEAN Schools Sports Council and brings together the best young athletes from 10 ASEAN countries. Muhammad Yusuf bin Mohamed Husain is a talented sepak takraw player who represented Singapore at the ASG.

Known for his agility and precision, he played a key role in leading the Singapore Schools team through intense matches against other top school teams in the region. As the center, he plays a crucial role in coordinating attacks and setting up plays, using his agility and quick reflexes to control the game’s pace. The ASEAN School Games was an important milestone in his athletic career and a platform to develop his talent further.

STMWS congratulates Muhammad Yusuf on representing Singapore as a young athlete. This is truly a prestigious milestone in his sports career.

2017 Majlis Ugama Islam Singapura - Anugerah Jasa Bakti

The MUIS Jasa Bakti award recognizes individuals who have actively volunteered and made significant contributions to the Singapore Muslim community.

Haji Kutus has been passionately and deeply involved since the society’s early years, He has played a key role in building strong ties with organisations such as Mendaki, MUIS, the Federation of Indian Muslims, and SINDA during the 1980s and 1990s. These collaborations enabled STMWS to reach out effectively to the less fortunate and other vulnerable groups in society.

Beyond STMWS, he has also served as a committee member of Maulana Mohammad Ali Mosque since 1991, contributing with the same dedication and sense of duty. His passion for spreading Islamic knowledge is evident not only in his leadership roles but also in his personal efforts to teach and guide others in their religious journey.

Haji Kutus has been featured in various press such as the Tanjong Pagar Chronicle in 2015 and was recognised as a pioneer contributor to nation-building in the SG50 commemorative book Hands, launched by the Ministry of Communications and Information. His life story was also included in the Singapore Memories Project in 2016.

2017 National Day Awards - Pingat Bakti Masyrakat (PBM)

The Public Service Medal (PBM), also known as Pingat Bakti Masyarakat, is an award given by the Singapore government as part of the National Day Awards. It recognizes individuals who have provided valuable public service to the nation. Haji Mohamed Yacob Bin Kassim was awarded the Pingat Bakti Masyarakat (Public Service Medal) in recognition of his dedicated service and valuable contributions to the community.

Haji Yacob is a dedicated and committed member of STMWS. He joined the society in his twenties with the intention of staying close to his community and preserving his roots. At the same time, Haji Yacob has always been highly civic-conscious, demonstrating a strong sense of responsibility towards his people in his neighbourhood. During the 1980s, he was passionate about volunteering at grassroots club, where he actively contributed his time and effort to support community development and foster social cohesion.

Haji Yacob enjoys interacting with people from all races and is always ready to go around to help the needy and less fortunate. Over the years, his kindness, humility, and tireless service have made him a well-known and respected figure—not only among members of the community but also among its leaders.
